Circle hosted a huge variety of activities for children and families across our projects during the Easter holidays.
ISSEP Mentoring Project Day Trips
Circle’s ISSEP Mentoring Project enjoyed several day trips together, getting involved in exciting and educational activities to keep our brains busy over the holidays. We journeyed into town to visit Our Dynamic Earth, City Art Centre, see an interactive show at the Festival Theatre and hopped aboard an Open Top Bus Tour. We enjoyed Edinburgh International Science Festival workshops at several of these venues – Mini Mechanics, ER Surgery and Dig Up a Dinosaur at the City Art Centre were a huge hit and inspired some future mechanics, doctors and archeologists!
These trips were funded by the efforts of our mentors from George Heriot’s Secondary School who raised money to support the project. Many thanks also to the Social Work students from the University of Edinburgh currently on placement at Circle for accompanying us on these trips!
Harbour Project Family Fun Days
Families supported by Circle’s Harbour Project enjoyed a picnic and a guided walk with the Historic Scotland Ranger service around Arthur’s Seat during the Easter Holidays. Our family day out was made possible by the funding we received from Go2Play last year.
FABI Project Family Fun Days
Families supported by the FABI team have enjoyed fun days out to Aerial Adventures in East Kilbride and Blameless, Hamilton. Lots of fun was had and some of the children (and maybe a certain FABI team member) were very brave in trying out the aerial walk at Aerial Adventures. They definitely appear to have a head for heights!
Blameless was a fantastic day with children having great fun playing on the beach and the bouncy castles and, as it was Easter after all, taking part in the all-important egg and spoon race!
Thanks to Tunnock’s who this year again donated lots of Easter eggs for the families we support – extremely generous and thoughtful of them!
