The Parents under Pressure (PuP) Program is a key part of Circle’s intensive family support, helping parents navigate challenges like trauma, substance use, family conflict, and financial stress.
Why Circle Uses Parents under Pressure
Parents under Pressure is an evidence-based program that takes a therapeutic partnership approach, empowering parents to build strong, supportive relationships with their children. Circle supports parents facing multiple pressures, addressing isolation, stigma, poverty, and instability while advocating for meaningful social connections. Aligned with The Promise, PuP helps parents listen to, connect with, and support their children, even if they live with other caregivers.
How Parents under Pressure Works
- Flexible Support: Available 1:1 or in groups, utilising a Parent Workbook to guide personal growth.
- Tailored Approach: Practitioners collaborate with parents to set meaningful goals and develop confidence in their parenting.
- Evidence-Based Tools: Staff use the PuP Integrated Theoretical Framework and an online Toolkit to assess progress and provide structured support.
- Ongoing Training: Circle’s accredited PuP practitioners complete a six-month training and receive continuous implementation support to ensure they meet the needs of families.
