Family Outreach Worker
Children’s Resilience Worker (East Lothian)
Part-time (18 hours per week)
3 months maternity leave cover (with possible extension)

Circle is seeking a Children’s Resilience Worker to join our East Lothian project, funded by Scottish Government and Corra Foundation. The role provides one-to-one, peer and group support to children and young people affected by parental substance use, domestic abuse and complex mental health challenges, helping them build resilience, strengthen family relationships and make positive change.
 Funded by Scottish Government and Corra Foundation, this post supports children and young people affected by parental drug or alcohol use through individual, peer and group work. The Children’s Resilience Worker will build on their strengths, help them connect with peers, ensure their voices are heard, and work with parents, carers and partner agencies to provide early, holistic support.
We are looking for a skilled and empathetic professional qualified in social work, social care, education or health, with experience supporting families through a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach.
The successful candidate will have strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, a good understanding of child development and the challenges facing vulnerable families, and a commitment to equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice. Circle is seeking a Family Outreach Worker (21 hours/week) to join our project in East Lothian.  Funded by Children’s Services, East Lothian Council/MELDAP (local alcohol and Drugs Partnership) this post aims to provide support to children and families affected by parental drug and/or alcohol use, reducing risks and minimising the impact on children. The post holder will work directly with parents, carers and children to strengthen family relationships, improve parenting capacity, and promote safer, healthier lifestyles.

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic professional with a qualification in social work, social care, education, health, or another relevant discipline.

The successful candidate will have strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, a good understanding of rights-based approaches and the challenges facing vulnerable families, and a commitment to equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice.
