5 years of The DARED Challenge!
Our annual DARED Challenge has launched for its 6th year, and over the past week, we have been hosting our own DARED memories takeover on social media to share and remind you of some of the amazing memories that have been made through DARED over the past 5 years.
Here’s a quick round up of our DARED memories week…
2018…the very first DARED!
Starting off with DARED 2018- the year of the launch!
Founder of The DARED Challenge, Mark Fletcher, organised the first run ever DARED run with a group of teachers from Broughton High School and staff from Circle who were going to be taking part in the event. The group of runners set off together to mark the birth of The DARED Challenge and ran around Inverleith Park.
2019- Our first DARED medals!
2019- the year of the medals!
The decision to introduce the medals in 2019 was taken, as we felt our DARED participants deserved something at the end of the event to mark their achievements.
2021- T-shirt and brand re-vamp
After the success of the event in 2020, we decided DARED needed a brand upgrade, and 2021 saw the launch of the new logo, and swanky black runners t-shirts you see today!
In amongst the re-brand, we had karaoke, sightings of the Queen, several post-run sea swims, as well as all of the usual fun that comes with taking part in DARED!
2022- some new additions to DARED!
Last year, we saw some new aspects added to the event, including the new challenge, DARED To Be Different, DARED Buffs, Team Sign Ups, and our first ever DARED Champions!
As part of DARED 2022, Craigour Park Primary School hosted an official DARED DAY to get children and parents running together to promote the importance of exercise, whilst raising some money and awareness of Circle at the school, which was a huge success!
On top of all this, we have the Social Saturday events, The Midnight Run’s, the Facebook Participant Group, and so many other memories that we couldn’t possibly list in one email!
We hope this week has helped you reminisce on some of the wonderful things about DARED, and hopefully, you’ll consider joining us for another year!
