A recap of Friends of the Haven event
A few weeks ago, we hosted an event for Haven families, charity partners, funders, and policymakers. It was a chance to celebrate the amazing work and families helped by our Haven Project. This project provides important help to families in North Edinburgh, like parent-child groups, mentoring, and connections to community resources.
Our Senior Family Outreach Worker, Julie, started the event with a warm welcome. She talked about the Haven Project and why it’s so important for our local community.
After Julie’s introduction, everyone mingled and talked. It was great to see guests chatting with Haven families and being inspired by their stories.
We were honoured to have Deidre Brock MP visit during the event. She had meaningful talks with families about their positive experiences with the Haven. Deidre also listened to Haven staff team members, who shared how much they care about the families they support.
