After 20 years of service, Liz Dahl has stepped down as Chief Executive of Circle to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Liz has led the organisation as Family Service Unit (FSU) and for the past 10 years as Circle. When Liz first came to FSU there were five staff and if we look at the number of staff there are today, the organisation has grown 840%, which is no mean feat. However, it is not the number of staff but the quality of work offered to families that makes the real difference and I would like to thank Liz for being so open to new ideas and good practice, making Circle what it is today. Her commitment to staff and students has developed a learning culture and a thirst for knowledge that makes Circle such an exciting place to work. Undoubtedly our whole family approach and our solution focussed work really supports families, but it’s our values and the relationships we make that have the biggest impact, and that has come directly from Liz. Her door has always been open to me, other managers, Family Support Workers and, more importantly, families themselves. It is this openness and willingness to listen that makes me proud to work for Circle. I would like to thank Liz for her dedication to Circle, for her hard work and for leading such an extraordinary organisation. We will ensure that the ethos of Circle carries on.
