Circle have worked with a group of parents on a variety of participatory projects. The Corra Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention Fund and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities Fund has enabled ‘The Full Circle Group’ to be active participants in the following developments:

A Wellbeing Group – In a test of the SHANARRI Safari approach [Link to The Promise page], ‘The Full Circle Group’ spent 10 weeks exploring the eight GIRFEC wellbeing indicators. These relaxed discussion groups allowed participants to talk freely about their unique experiences of each indicator. All insights from sessions were brought together with the group who then developed definitions for each indicator. These have been captured in these infographics.

From these definitions, the group then presented their findings to the Circle management team where they requested that the definitions formed part of our outcomes framework to support an experiential understanding of wellbeing that other families can connect with. The group then co-designed a new Wellbeing Assessment Tool based on their definitions which would work alongside Circle’s outcomes framework and planning system.

A Values Group – In this group, ‘The Full Circle Group’ members explored the attributes, benefits, personality, values and essence of Circle as an organisation. The same exercise was then completed with all staff members. All of this information was collated and used to co-design our organisational value statements.

A Participation Strategy Group – In 2020 ‘The Full Circle Group’ members had full oversight and involvement with the co-creation and development of our new Participation Strategy where they have presented their input to Circle’s management team and participated in a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis.
