A group of Danish social work students visited Circle’s Haven project on the 8th of January.
They were all first year students from the Metropolitan University College in Copenhagen on a “study tour” of Scotland. During the tour they visited a range of social work organisations.
The students came to Circle to learn about the history of the charity as well as the nature of the work that we perform.
Maura Daly, Circle’s Operations Manager, talked to the students alongside Alex and Pete, two of Circle’s Family Support Workers. They discussed Circle’s “solutions-focussed” and “whole-family” approach to supporting children and their families, which the students were quite interested to hear about.
Circle wishes all of the students the best of luck in their future studies. Like them, we also believe it is important to look at social work practices in other countries, as this could help to improve services in Scotland.
